Today is a sad day because of

Today is a sad day because of a death in the family. After almost forty five years of careful, selective picking of a few wild garlic patches by my family on our property, someone tore out every one of them out of the ground sometime last week. We have never tried to take more than our share, and have even showed a few people where the patches of wild garlic were on public land.. I hate all this talk of how unfair everything is,and how we should respect the enviroment, save the planet,etc...
Yeah right ,thats why people can destroy fraigile mini-ecosystems,leave car batteries(!!) on the side of the road, not to mention pot plantation throw-aways, and don't forget the stolen cut up motorcycle frames at the bridge(all this stuff is in an area of 2 km of my house!), and the worst situation is the complete barring of the red river 18 years ago,in the form of a large culvert that cuts of acess for fish to the upper river,by someone who bought a farm 3 km from us. It's like eveyone saying it's terrible when other people do it, but becaus i'm only me,or it's only one battery, so it's ok. IT'S NOT! One piece of garbage not thrown in the woods,is one less piece of garbage in the woods people! Every year my family picks up as much garbAGE as we can from public land ,but this year is going to be busy.
SHAME ON US!!
sorry for the ranting, but it felt good.
