Employee Relations in the Municipality of Rawdon

Yet another problem within the work force in Rawdon. Yet more tax dollars being used to prosecute a long time employee. Again the director general has chosen to use a sledge hammer to resolve a minor dispute, if there was even a dispute. Another employee has been suspended, another legal battle ensues.
This latest episode purports that this long time employee threatened to give the chef d’équipe a clout on the side of the head if he didn’t leave him alone. Knowing both parties, the so called threat was most likely said in jest without any intention of malice. The so-called threatening party is the last person in the world to raise his hand in anger against anyone & most probably the whole thing has been taken out of context. Unlike the accuser, the accused was never even involved in school yard scuffles, yet we are to believe the chef d‘équipe felt threatened by this man‘s words.
If the chef d’équipe felt so threatened by such a peaceful man, I wonder why he was not terrified a few weeks ago when an irate citizen approached him suggesting he needed a good kick in the pants (it was put quite so politely) for having dumped snow in his private driveway. Maybe he was even more afraid of the reaction of the d.g. if it was found out that due to his irresponsible action precious snow removal dollars were used to remove the offending snow.
All this makes one wonder just where the director general is coming from. Did he never played with other little boys? Is he not aware that most little boys do not play tea party, but more likely good guys and bad guys? He purports to be a hockey fan, does he think that each check on the ice merit’s a lawsuit? I have heard of law suit happy lawyers, but this is ridiculous-especially when it is at tax payers’ expense.
